Hello, my name is George Aguirre. I am a 24-year-old lawyer living in Venezuela. I aspire to actually be more than a mediocre, part-time artist, and to be able to do those awesome things that most people can do, you know, where they just pick up a pencil, some blank paper, and they turn it into something that's downright sexy. In other words, I aspire to be a concept artist, an illustrator, a designer, and perhaps even an animator. I like to try my hand at every art media that I can load onto a shopping cart and turn into late-month-credit-card-bill worries, such as pencils, pastels, acrylics, and anything that gives you allergies. I would like to think that I dabble in both vector art and raster graphics, using mostly Adobe Illustrator and Open Canvas 1.1/4.0 respectively. My art is mostly for original concepts, but sometimes I crave to make a tribute to the series and works I like, and then nobody recognizes it, a fact which I blame on obscure astrological circumstances, and so I will specify: I enjoy anime (several series, such as Ranma 1/2, most of CLAMP's works, Ouran), videogames (specifically King of Fighters, and I also rather dig Civilization 4, but you can't draw fanart of that, proper, as you'd be drawing historical fanart. Caesar/Cleopatra/Anthony OT3?), some TV series (Avatar, Stargate), and I do rather like books, but I find myself reading plenty of reference books. One of my hobbies is to reinvent existing works into - what I consider - more tasteful approaches to them, which means I like to take some TV series and remove unusual hair colors and absurd designs, and smack down some different style to it. I also enjoy photography and reading up on mythology, history and symbolism - my favorite subjects. I dream of sometime moving to the United States, where I would exercise my art career regardless of how difficult it might be.
